The Office of Internal Oversight Services (OIOS) is the internal oversight body of the United Nations (UN). The Office assists the Secretary-General in fulfilling his oversight responsibilities in respect of the resources and staff of the Organization through the provision of audit, investigation, inspection and evaluation services.
OIOS helps the UN become more efficient, effective and relevant, delivering on timely, reliable, objective information about the biggest risks and challenges facing the Organization through our functional divisions.
The Office’s oversight services contribute to supporting the Sustainable Development Goals and the overarching UN Charter by promoting responsible administration of resources, improved programme performance, and a culture of accountability and transparency in an evolving global landscape.
