Director Roads at Nyamira County Full Time

Requirements for Appointment:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent from a recognized institution.
• Leadership Development course lasting not less than six (6) weeks from a recognized institution.
• Registered with Engineers Registration Board of Kenya and be a corporate member of the institutions of engineers of Kenya.
• Served as principal superintending engineer (Roads/Materials) or comparable and relevant position in the public service for at least three (3) years.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Formulating and reviewing policies on procurement of works to ensure efficiency in the repair and maintenance of all road works.
• Budgeting for road projects and services.
• Ensuring quality assurance of road services and coordinating evaluation and monitoring adherence to departmental performance contracts.
• Directing and coordinating roads and research activities within the county.
• Supervising construction, rehabilitation, and maintenance of classified and unclassified roads.
• Preparing tender documents for road projects.
• Monitoring the execution of road development projects.
• Supervising and training engineers and technical staff.
