Lecturer in Computer Science Grade 12 at Pwani University Full Time

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

• Teach, conduct research, and supervise students and/or staff.
• Design and develop academic programs and curricula.
• Process digital and manual examinations to ensure the integrity of students’ grades.
• Provide guidance and counseling to students to improve their academic performance and instill professional values.
• Engage in administrative work, consulting with students to mentor them and ensure proper career selection.
• Respond to pedagogical and practical challenges to ensure the efficient running of the department and institution.
• Regularly liaise with students to teach and provide support.

Qualifications:

• PhD or equivalent degree qualification in Computer Science or equivalent from an accredited and recognized university.
• Registration with the relevant professional body (where applicable).
• Evidence of contribution to university/research institution through activities such as participation in departmental management, students’ academic/research advising, school or university/institutional meetings, committee membership, and related matters.
• Community involvement, such as being a member of BOG, SMC, etc.
• At least two publications in peer-reviewed journals.

Note: The appointment is either on Permanent and Pensionable terms or on a three (3) year renewable performance-based contract, depending on age, citizenship, or any other reason.
