Manager, Supply Chain Management- Grade Kmc 3 at Kenya Meat Commission Full Time

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

1. Developing, implementing, and reviewing supply chain management policies, strategies, plans, and programmes;
2. Coordinating the implementation of the Public Procurement and Disposal Act and other government regulations relating to supply chain management;
3. Coordinating the development of annual procurement plans;
4. Ensuring prudent and timely execution of contracts;
5. Coordinating the processing of tenders, market surveys, and research;
6. Managing pre-qualification of suppliers, inventory, and stock control;
7. Ensuring compliance with re-order levels for various items;
8. Overseeing the preparation of supplies expenditure estimates;
9. Overseeing disposal of stores and automation of procurement processes;
10. Coordinating the preparation of annual work plans;
11. Spearheading the development and implementation of the Division’s strategic plans, budgets, and performance contract;
12. Ensuring compliance with good governance and code of ethics;
13. Managing and developing staff in the Division.

Qualifications:

To be considered for this position, the ideal candidate must possess the following:

1. Master’s degree in any of the following disciplines: Procurement, Supplies Management, Financial Management, Business Administration, or equivalent qualification from recognized institution;
2. Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: Procurement or Supplies Management, Logistics, Commerce (Supply Chain Management option), or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
3. Served in the grade of Assistant Manager or in a comparable and relevant position, of which must have been at a management level;
4. Registered by Kenya Institute of Supplies Management (KISM) or relevant professional body in good standing;
5. Certificate in Leadership course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution;
6. Proficiency in computer application skills;
7. Fulfilled the requirements of Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution;
8. Demonstrated professional, managerial, and administrative competence as reflected in work performance and results; and
9. Exhibited a thorough understanding of national goals, policies, objectives and ability to relate them to proper management of the supply chain management function.
