Medical Officers (3 Posts) at Tharaka Nithi County Assembly Full Time

Requirements for appointment:

• Be a Kenyan citizen;
• Be a holder of Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (M.B.,& ChB.) Degree from a University recognized in Kenya;
• Have completed 12 months internship period;
• Registered as a Medical Practitioner by Medical Practitioners and Dentist Council;
• Have a Valid Practicing License;
• Be of acceptable moral and professional standing;
• Willing to undertake duties in any part of Tharaka Nithi County as they will be assigned from time to time;
• Certificate in computer application skills from an institution recognized in Kenya.

Duties and responsibilities:

• The Medical Officer shall be responsible to the employer and the supervisor for the following:
• Attending to patients in clerking, diagnoses, management and follow- up;
• Performing medical and surgical procedures;
• Preparing and responding to emergencies and disasters;
• Participating in managements of medicine and medical instruments and equipment;
• Providing health educations;
• Maintaining medical records, health information and data;
• Counselling patients and relatives on diagnosis and bereavement;
• Teaching and coaching Medical students, Nursing students and Clinical Officers interns;
• Preparing requisite documents for registration; and
• Any other duty that may be assigned by the supervisor
