Nutrition and Dietetics Officer III – 4 Posts at Nyamira County Public Service Board Full Time

Qualifications:

• Must be a Kenyan Citizen;
• Degree in Community Nutrition, Clinical Nutrition or Nutrition and Dietetics from a recognized institution;
• Certificate in Computer Application Skills from a recognized institution;
• Registration by the Council of the Institute of Nutritionists and Dieticians in Kenya (CIND).

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Implementing nutrition programmes to improve the health of the community;
• Providing nutrition services in healthcare facilities to patients with specific nutritional needs;
• Conducting nutrition assessments to identify the nutritional status of individuals;
• Supervising nutrition and dietetics technologists to ensure proper implementation of programmes;
• Collecting and compiling nutrition data for analysis and reporting;
• Providing nutrition health education and demonstrations to promote healthy eating habits;
• Counseling patients with specific nutritional needs on proper nutrition and dietary practices;
• Monitoring the preparation of therapeutic feeds to ensure compliance with standards;
• Implementing outpatient and inpatient supplementary and therapeutic feeding programmes to address malnutrition;
• Promoting maternal, infant and young children feeding programmes to improve the health of mothers and their children;
• Providing micronutrient supplementation to prevent and treat micronutrient deficiencies.
