Pharmacy Technicians (2 Posts) at KEMRI Full Time

Job Responsibilities

• Assist the BOHEMIA trial study pharmacist with all investigational medical product (IMP) related tasks, including storage, handling, dispensing, and disposal
• Ensure proper handling and management of study documentation
• Develop a thorough understanding of study protocols, goals, and logistics for conducting clinical trials
• Manage IMP reception, storage, and dispensing to clinical trial staff
• Dispense IMP to study participants and prepare prescriptions and accountability logs for all dispensed medicines
• Update dispensing and inventory logs under pharmacist supervision
• Support and promote the safe and ethical use of investigational drugs
• Adhere to standard operating procedures for IMP management as per the study protocol
• Work professionally and ethically with competence, accountability, and integrity
• Perform other relevant duties assigned by the study pharmacist

Qualifications

• Diploma in Pharmacy from a PPB accredited institution
• Enrollment with the Pharmacy & Poisons Board
• At least two years of experience in a clinical trial or research setting or equivalent
• Experience working in Kwale and in a clinical research setting is an added advantage
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Effective written communication skills, including project reporting using MS Word, PowerPoint, and MS Excel

Terms of Employment

• Six-month renewable contract as per KEMRI scheme of service
• Probation period for the first three months
• Salary payable within the stated job grade
