Principal Auditor at Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK) Full Time

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The duties and responsibilities of the officer will entail: –

• Participating in developing audit strategies, policies, and procedures and ensuring effective implementation;
• Contributing to the preparation of the risk-based annual audit plan for approval by the Audit & Risk Management Committee;
• Preparing audit reports and ensuring timely issuance to management for recommended action implementation;
• Evaluating progress and effectiveness of action taken to implement audit recommendations from both internal and external audits;
• Assisting in the preparation of quarterly audit reports to the Audit and Risk Management Committee of the Board;
• Executing special audits/investigations;
• Evaluating staff performance in the department and ensuring work performance meets the objectives of the function; and
• Contributing to the preparation, control, and monitoring of the department’s annual budget implementation.

PERSON SPECIFICATIONS

For appointment to this grade, an officer must: –

• Have a minimum of six (6) years of relevant work experience;
• Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration (Finance and Accounting option), or a relevant field from a recognized university;
• Be a Certified Public Accountant of Kenya (K) or have an equivalent qualification;
• Be a registered member of ICPAK in good standing;
• Have proficiency in computer application skills;
• Have demonstrated merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results; and
• Fulfill the requirements of chapter six of the Constitution.
