Principal Industrial Training Officer at National Industrial Training Authority (NITA) Full Time

Job Description
The Principal Industrial Training Officer is responsible for the following;

• Originating policies for effective departmental administration and management;
• Planning, Reviewing, co-ordination and implementation of the policies and objectives of the Unit/Section;
• Be in-charge of training development of small scale and medium scale businessmen and industrialists;
• Managing and efficiently using resources in the Unit/Section;
• Reviewing overall performance of staff in the Unit/Section;
• Preparing budgetary proposals, and control of expenditure;
• Establishing and maintaining the Department’s Quality Management System and;
• Coordinate quality assurance and ensure implementation of quality standards.

Person Specifications
For appointment at this position, a candidate must have: –

• A minimum period of eight (8) years in relevant work experience and at least three (3) years in supervisory role in a position in the Public Service or Private Sector;
• A Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following disciplines: mechanical, electrical/electronics, computer science, information communication technology, automotive, building and construction, refrigeration and air conditioning, agri-business, P.V. solar installation, hair dressing and beauty therapy, textile, fashion & design, Human Resource, Mathematics, Business
• Administration, Physics, Chemistry, Finance any other occupational field or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
• A Master’s Degree in any of the following disciplines: mechanical, electrical/electronics, computer science, information communication technology, automotive, building and construction, refrigeration and air conditioning, agri-business, P.V. solar installation, hair dressing and beauty therapy, textile, fashion & design, Human Resource, Mathematics, Business
• Administration, Physics, Chemistry, Finance any other occupational field or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
• Management course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution;
• Be in possession of Instructor Training certificate of not less than four (4) weeks or its equivalent from a recognized institution;
• Professional qualification and membership where applicable.
• Proficiency in computer applications.
• Good Communication skills.
• Demonstrated results in work performance; and
• Fulfilled the requirements of Chapter Six of the constitution
