Programme Management Officer, P3 at UN-Habitat Full Time

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

• Apply knowledge of urban economy and finance theories, concepts, and approaches in identifying and analyzing issues and participating in their resolution
• Conduct data collection using various methods and develop advisory reports on urban economy and finance independently
• Familiarity with decision-making process, participatory processes, and tools for public engagement
• Work collaboratively with colleagues, including multidisciplinary teams, and place team agenda before personal agenda
• Take ownership of all responsibilities, deliver outputs within prescribed time, cost, and quality standards, and operate in compliance with organizational regulations and rules

Qualifications:

• Advanced university degree in economics, spatial economics, economic development, finance, public policy or a related field. A first-level university degree in combination with qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
• A minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in economic development, finance, and demonstrated experience in working with governments and in developing countries is required. Previous working experience in the areas of urban economic development and municipal finance is desirable. Experience in program management and within the UN system is desirable.
• Fluency in English is required, and knowledge of French is desirable. Knowledge of another official United Nations language is an advantage.
