Senior Industrial Training Officer at National Industrial Training Authority (NITA) Full Time

Job Description
The Senior Industrial Training Officer is responsible for the following;

• Conducting training for Level-6 and below apprentices and Skills Upgrading (SUG) trainees;
• Establishing capacity for employers to train the apprentice;
• Supervising the identification of assessment tools including Moderation activities;
• Coordinating the Competence Assessment and Trade Testing exercise;
• Coordinating the supervision of apprentice both in In-Centre and In-Plant training in industry;
• Coordinating inspection if the Industrial Training activities by inspectors;
• Coordinating Sensitization forums of employers on NITA functions;
• Developing departmental work plans and budgets;
• Ensuring that the training tools and equipment are relevant and up-to-date with current industry practices;
• Ensuring adherence to quality assurance standards and;
• Assisting in conducting and scheduling effective training for staff in regard to Quality Management Systems.

Person Specifications
For appointment at this position, a candidate must have: –

• At least four (4) years relevant work experience in the Public Service or Private Sector;
• Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: Mechatronics Engineering,Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, Information Communication Technology, Automotive, Civil Engineering, Building Economics,Renewable Energy, Beauty Therapy, Textile Engineering,
• Clothing/Apparel/Fashion & Design, Structural, Medical, Education,Architecture, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Curriculum Development another occupational field or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
• Supervisory course lasting not less than two (2) weeks from a recognized institution;
• Be in possession of Instructor Training certificate of not less than four (4) weeks or its equivalent from a recognized institution;
• Proficiency in Computer Applications;
• Good communication skills;
• Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results;
• Fulfilled the requirements of Chapter Six of the constitution.
