Senior Principal Corporate Communication Officer at NEMA Full Time

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Implementing communication strategies to enhance the impact of the Authority’s work
• Advising the Authority on communication policies, strategies, and programs
• Acting as the interface between the Authority and other stakeholders
• Monitoring public perception of NEMA and providing advice to management
• Managing branding and promotional activities, including content management
• Overseeing media relations and maximizing media opportunities for positive exposure of NEMA
• Researching, creating, and distributing press releases to targeted media
• Managing the public relations aspect of potential crisis situations
• Spearheading web administration and social media communication and management
• Overseeing organizational responses to inquiries about NEMA and maintaining internal and external feedback systems
• Overseeing general protocol within the Authority
• Lobbying organizations to integrate environmental conservation in their corporate social responsibility activities
• Supervising, guiding, appraising and developing staff working under him or her

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Corporate Communications, Mass Communication, or a related field
• Master’s degree in Public Relations, Corporate Communication, Mass Communication, Journalism or a related field
• Membership in Public Relations Society of Kenya or any other relevant professional body
• At least 10 years of relevant work experience, including 3 years in a management role in the Public Service or Private Sector
• Completion of a management course lasting at least 4 weeks from a recognized institution
• Proficiency in computer applications
• Excellent communication skills
• Demonstrated merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results
• Compliance with the requirements of chapter six of the constitution.
