Teachers Internship – Secondary School (450 Posts) at TSC Internship

ELIGIBILITY

To be considered for recruitment as a Teacher Intern for Post Primary Institutions, candidates should meet the following requirements:

  • Be a Kenyan citizen;
  • Hold at least a diploma in education with a minimum mean Grade of C+ (plus) and C+ (plus) in two teaching subjects in KCSE or its equivalent;
  • Be a registered teacher with the Teachers Service Commission.

GENERAL INFORMATION

  • Manual applications will not be considered.
  • The Commission’s Recruitment Guidelines for the recruitment of Teacher Interns 2022/2023 Financial Year shall apply.
  • Shortlisted candidates must present original academic and professional certificates.
  • Selection of candidates will be based on merit and the number of vacancies per County.
  • Formerly employed permanent and pensionable Teachers Service Commission staff and those who have previously served under the TSC internship program are not eligible.
  • Applicants may apply to two schools with appropriate vacancies.
  • Successful candidates must not accept more than one offer of internship engagement.
  • Successful applicants must have Personal Accident Insurance to cover personal risks during the internship period.

NOTE

The Teacher Internship Programme is a one-year program aimed at equipping and sustaining the competencies of individuals entering the teaching service. The program is designed to provide practical teaching experience, mentorship, and coaching to unemployed registered teachers.

During verification/interviews, applicants must provide:

  • A copy of Teacher Registration Certificate/print-out from TSC online portal as evidence of registration as a teacher
  • A copy of National Council for Persons with Disability (NCPWD) card (where applicable)
  • A copy of the National Identity Card (ID) or Passport
  • Two (2) color passport size photographs
  • A copy of National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF) card
  • A copy of Kenya Revenue Authority Personal Identification Number (KRA PIN)

DURATION OF INTERNSHIP

The internship period will be for 12 months.
